This is a short video of my new fly fishing friend Matt Simmons.... Vary rarely do you meet someone and know they will be a good friend for the rest of your life. It's even more rare to meet someone and know they will make a good fishing buddy. Just watching him cast this big streamer in this short video and you know the guy can fish. But just because a guy can fish doesn't make him a good fishing buddy.
We fished together for only a couple of hours and didn't catch a thing, but I did catch a glimpse of his love for streams and trout and all things eternal. Those invisible things that whisper to us in these beautiful places....
Matt has fly fished all around the world, yet this little freestone stream not far from his home got him excited. Anybody that can be filled with that kind of awe and wonder and you know they have discovered some of the secrets to living well.
